Karen Hardy, MD

Karen Hardy, MD, selected an East Bay Best Doctor in two categories, was also one of five physicians profiled in Oakland magazine's December 2007 issue.

Dr. Hardy is chief of the Pulmonology division at Children's Hospital Oakland. She also directs Children's Cystic Fibrosis Center and is medical director of the Sleep Lab.

Oakland magazine's 2007 East Bay Medical Guide features 206 physicians selected by their colleagues for inclusion in The East Bay’s Best Doctors list.

Fifty-four members of the list are on the medical staff at Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland. Three were even listed twice, in two separate categories.

Most are subspecialists, many with practices on Children’s Hospital’s campus — others are in community practices that refer patients to Children’s for specialty care.

We’re proud of all of them.

Oakland magazine’s list was compiled by Best Doctors Inc., founded in 1989 by physicians at Harvard University’s medical school.

Best Doctors creates its list by asking physicians across the country their opinions of the best in a variety of specialties. They are not paid for their opinions, nor can physicians pay to be named to the list.
