93.3 LA RAZA Broadcasts 2nd Annual
Radiotón Para Nuestos Niños - Hagamos un Milagro Para los Niños to Support Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland
October 18, 2010
Oakland, Calif. - Spanish radio station KRZZ 93.3 LA RAZA will broadcast the second annual Radiotón Para Nuestros Ninos—Radiothon for Our Kids—live from Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland October 22 through October 24. The radiothon will raise funds for the hospital in addition to increasing awareness of the hospital’s exceptional medical services and commitment to children in the Latino community.
“Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland has a profound impact on our community,” said Joe Cunningham, Vice President, SBS National Sales and San Francisco Market Manager, KRZZ. “That became very apparent last year when so many of our 93.3 LA RAZA listeners generously supported this fabulous cause. Nothing is more important for our future than our children, and we need to support those who devote their lives to the health and welfare of our children. 93.3 LA RAZA is honored to be hosting this year’s Children’s Miracle Network radiothon again and we look forward to an even greater success story this year!”
All funds raised during this 3-day event will go towards medical care at Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland, the local Children’s Miracle Network hospital. Children’s has been committed to caring for a diverse population throughout the region and state for 98 years and no child is turned away because of a family’s inability to pay. With 200,000 patient visits each year, approximately 19.5 percent of Children’s patients are Latino and close to 24.3 percent of the hospital’s leukemia patients are Latino.
The Radiotón Para Nuestos Niños event will give listeners a chance to hear patients and families tell inspiring firsthand stories of strength and healing and the family-centered support and care offered at Children’s Hospital Oakland.
Tune in and lend your support for this worthwhile cause. For more information, please contact Tina Evans, Director, Children’s Miracle Network, at (510) 428-3885 ext. 5767.
