Getting here
Children’s Hospital is easy to get to by BART or bus or car. Our BART shuttle runs frequently and will pick you up from Oakland’s MacArthur BART station and take you back. For more information about transportation routes, shuttle schedules, or directions click here.

Parking
Round-the-clock parking is available in the garage across the street from the hospital on 52nd Street. The prices are as follows:
$1.25 per half hour, daily maximum $6.00.

If you have paid for a full day and would like in-and-out privileges on that day, ask for a receipt as you exit the first time. You may show that receipt in lieu of payment when you next exit.

Metered parking is available near the hospital on 52nd Street.

Places to eat
The Friendly Café in the hospital cafeteria is located on the second floor. It provides healthy, nourishing and reasonably priced meals. You may notice much of our staff dining in there.

*Lunch: 11:30 a.m.to 2 p.m.
*Dinner: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. (weekends 4 p.m.to 7 p.m.)

Vending machines located in the Friendly Café are always available. The coffee bar in the Outpatient Center atriumis open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition, the ambassadors can supply you with a list of nearby restaurants.

ATM
For your convenience, an ATM is located in the Friendly Café on the second floor.

Resources
The Family Resource & Information Center (FRIC), located across from the Friendly Café on the hospital’s second floor, also provides information and support for visitors. If there’s anything you want to know about the hospital or its neighborhood, FRIC's staff can help. Call (510) 428-3549, or just dial 3549 from inside the hospital, if you need assistance.

Gifts
Children’s Gift Shop has just what you were looking for to help cheer a child up. Conveniently located on the first floor, around the corner from the Ambassadors’ desk. Because the Gift Shop is owned and operated by the medical center, all proceeds support Children’s Hospital. Call (510) 428-3275 to order something.
