Thank you for your interest in the Pediatric Residency Program at Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland.
We have had a Pediatric Residency Program at Children's for more than 70 years and have trained well over 1,000 pediatricians, who have become leaders in many fields and effective advocates for children in our community and many others. The program is now recognized as one of the leading pediatric training programs in the nation.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to residency education, and believe that only by continuing to attract and train outstanding pediatric house officers can we maintain our reputation for providing superb patient care to our community and our patient population.
We strive for a diverse group of residents and encourage students from communities that have been historically underrepresented to apply.

There is a special quality about this hospital that comes from serving the most needy children of Alameda County, as well as serving tertiary care patients from all over California and nearby states, all under one roof.
