Ten-month-old Shayne has known Vicki for almost half his life. Vicki, a Children's Hospital nurse, has cared for Shayne since he was diagnosed with an abnormal collapse of his tracheal walls. This condition, called tracheomalacia, obstructed Shayne's airway so he was unable to eat by mouth. He was fed by IV until his condition improved.
