Pediatric Clinical Research Center

The Pediatric Clinical Research Center (PCRC) acts as the hub for clinical and translational research at Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland and is funded by the National Institutes of Health. PCRC staff help researchers with their administrative, nursing, statistical and laboratory needs.

The center also offers comprehensive research lab services and state-of-the-art facilities to the medical center’s scientists. However, the PCRC focuses entirely on research. Clinical laboratory services for hospital staff or patients is handled by the Pathology and Clinical Laboratory.

Eligibility and Costs

All clinical and basic scientists at Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland, as well as other staff working on studies approved by Children’s Hospital’s Internal Review Board, are welcome to use PCRC services. We are able to handle multi-center studies and studies with various sources of funding, including those with corporate sponsors. PCRC use fees vary and are negotiable.
