Sports Medicine Center
for Young Athletes

Sports Medicing Center for Young Athletes Facebook Fan Pagewww.facebook.com/ChildrensHospitalSportsMedicine

Young athletes should be managed differently from adult athletes:

  • Growing bones and cartilage are susceptible to injuries unlike those of a skeletally mature athlete.

  • Overuse injuries in young athletes can lead to disability that extends into adulthood.

  • As young athletes become increasingly skilled and competitive, the injury rates and significance increase.

That’s why we have developed a program offering young athletes a one-of-a-kind resource for sports injury care and prevention.

The Sports Medicine Center for Young Athletes is the first sports medicine program in Northern California to work exclusively with young athletes.

  • Our pediatric sports medicine specialists have extensive knowledge and experience in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of sports-related injuries in children and adolescents.

  • We offer young athletes the most current and comprehensive medical care and educational programming available.

  • It is our objective to facilitate not only the return to the enjoyment of sports quickly, but also safely.
