Michelle Cappello received her MS in physical therapy from Boston University. She is certified in PNF, a manual training method for stretching and strengthening. Michelle has worked with local young athletes in a variety of sports, including rowing, soccer, baseball, swimming, basketball, track, skiing, gymnastics and volleyball. Her rehabilitation programs are based on function and performance tailored to each individual athlete. Michelle is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association in both the Orthopedic and Sports Medicine sections. She is also an avid soccer player.

David earned his master’s degree in physical therapy from Western University of Health Sciences in 2000. He has been a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) since 2002. David has worked with young athletes in a variety of sports, including baseball, swimming, basketball, volleyball, football and wrestling. His extensive knowledge of functional anatomy, biomechanics and rehabilitation/training principles enables him to provide optimal interventions for young athletes.

Bruce Valentine, PTA, ATC

Bruce received his BS from California State University at Hayward in 1993. He majored in Kinesiology with an emphasis in athletic training. He has been a board-certified member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) since 1993. Bruce became licensed as a physical therapy assistant with a degree from Arapahoe Community College in Littleton, Colorado in 2003.
Bruce served for 13 years as an athletic trainer and later as program director of the Sequoia Hospital Center for Sports Health. Bruce was a head athletic trainer at the high school and collegiate levels during that period of time. He has extensive experience working with football, soccer, basketball, baseball and softball teams as well as cross-country, track and field, and swimming. Bruce joined the Children's Hospital Sports Medicine Center for Young Athletes in 2005. His particularly enjoys his teenage son’s soccer and baseball participation and the many outdoor activities that his family does together.

Robin Bousquet, MPT

Robin received her BA in physical education from California State University, Chico, in 1992 and her MPT in physical therapy from Western University of Health Sciences in 1997.
While at Chico, Robin taught swimming, played for the Chico State Women’s LaCrosse team, and was director of aerobics at Chico State University. At Western University, she presented her thesis on "Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis: Land versus Aquatic Therapy." After completing her education, Robin practiced throughout Southern California, working in outpatient and inpatient clinics at Shriner's Hospital, UCLA, St. Joseph's Hospital, and USC University Hospital
Robin was an avid ice skater with several courses in ballet and jazz. Other interests include running, rollerblading and hiking in the local foothills. She is very happy to return to the Bay Area and continues to pursue her interests in the rehabilitation and training of young athletes.

Tuan Mai, DPT, ATC, CSCS

Tuan received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Samuel Merritt College and his BA from Pitzer College. He is also a certified athletic trainer (ATC) through the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Tuan has worked with athletes in a variety of sports, including football, basketball, baseball, water polo, track and gymnastics. The Sports Medicine Center has helped combine his interest in sports medicine and pediatrics. His hobbies include playing basketball, lifting weights, and learning about business and finance.

Thomas Clennell, DPT

Tom was born in and has lived in the Bay Area for many years. He attended UC Berkeley and earned an Bachelor’s in Integrative Biology in 2004. Tom then went on to earn a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Samuel Merritt University in 2009. Tom has received a certification in PNF, a manual therapy technique utilized for developing proper muscle patterns, strength and flexibility.
Tom has worked in the field of Pediatric Sports Medicine since 2009 and has helped athletes from a variety of sports return to their activities, including basketball, football, swimming, soccer, volleyball, baseball, hockey and track. The Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine Center has allowed Tom to further his knowledge in a great environment learning from the experts in pediatric sports rehabilitation.

Caron Bush, PT, DPT, CSCS

Caron attended Scripps College in Claremont and earned her bachelors in Biology and German Literature in 2000. After working five years as an Environmental Scientist in the Bay Area she returned to Southern California to earn her doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Southern California in 2008. She is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Caron's moto is that she will try any sport at least once. Some of her favorite sports include skateboarding, tennis, mountain and road biking, running, and adventure racing. In High School, Caron played tennis and was a league champion for doubles advancing on to CIF. She also threw shot put and discus. In College, Caron played tennis, raced bikes and adventure raced. She was invited to the NCAA Mountain Biking Championships.
In addition to her physical therapy experience, Caron worked as a student Athletic Trainer for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps sports teams. She has also done private tennis and skateboard lessons for children. Caron has a passion for giving back to the community and has developed programs for children and their families to exercise and bond together.

Kelli Adams, PTA, ATC

Kelli Adams has been with Childrens Hospital and Research Center Oakland since July 2009. Kelli went to Xavier University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 1999 and San Jose State University with a Master of Arts Degree in Kinesiology in 2002. She became a licensed physical therapist assistant in the Fall of 2007. She has worked with Pop Warner Football and various high school sports, ranging from football to softball and wrestling, in the Bay Area since 2001. Kelli works in the Sports Medicine Center for Young Athletes both in the rehab clinic as well as in the Orthopedic clinic to assist the sports medicine physicians. She is currently the head Athletic Trainer for Albany High School. Kelli's hobbies include Brazilian and Latin dance.

Mikel Jackson, ATC
Athletic Trainer
Mikel graduated from the San Jose State University in 2009 with a B.S. in
Athletic Training and Minor in African-American Studies. The Bay Area
native (and Amador Valley High alum) is an active member of the NATA and
California Athletic Trainer’s Association. He has worked with competitive
and recreational young athletes in a variety of sports including basketball,
wrestling, volleyball, softball and gymnastics.
Mikel’s professional interests include sports performance nutrition and
athletic training in non-traditional sports settings. An active sportsman,
his leisure time is spent white water rafting, skydiving, snowboarding, hang
gliding, or rock climbing.

Jamie Faison, ATC, CSCS
Athletic Trainer, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist
Jamie earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from UC Davis in
2003, and became a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) in 2004.
In addition to working as an Athletic Trainer at the Sports Medicine Center
for Young Athletes, he is also the Head Athletic Trainer at Berkeley High
School. Jamie has worked at Berkeley High school since 2005 and he also
teaches the Sports Medicine class. In 2008 Jamie became a Certified
Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Jamie loves
working with athletes of all ages and sports, especially in baseball, football, wrestling,
and swimming. He works hard with his athletes to get them FIT, FAST and
STRONG for their sport!

Jasmine Gittens, MS, ATC
Athletic Trainer
Jasmine Gittens was born in Brooklyn, New York. She attend East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) were she played basketball for four years. During her four years at ESU, Jasmine was co-captain of her basketball team and led her team to a PSAC & earned a BS in Athletic Training. At ESU she worked with athletes at various levels of competition. Jasmine continued her education by attending San Jose State University in California, where she completed her Masters degree in Kinesiology and Athletic Training.
Jasmine has a strong passion for the field of athletic training and brings a high level of energy through her hard work and dedication to her athletes. As an athlete herself, she understands the needs of her athletes and takes great pride in her performance as a professional. |
Daniel Kamenetzky

Daniel received his BS in Physical Education from the National School of Physical Education Romero Brest in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1991. In 2010 he earned a Master Degree in Kinesiology from the California State University.
Daniel worked 13 years in the Argentinean educational and sports performance system with children and youths, teaching physical education and a number of different sports. He also worked in a High Performance Laboratory studying athlete’s physical capacity, and together with a multidisciplinary team in training and rehabilitating competitive and recreational athletes. In line with his interest in sport education, he created several programs for schools and sports teams and worked as a consultant for different sports programs. Since his arrival to the U.S. in 2000, he worked as the fitness coach for the women's rugby team at the University of California, Berkeley (CA), he started the women's rugby team at St. Mary's College in Moraga (CA). He also created several projects for the Club at The Claremont Resort and Spa in Berkeley (CA), and performed sport evaluation projects with many local sports teams.
Daniel's specialties include Applied Sciences to Performance, Sports Evaluations and Movement Reeducation and Rehabilitation.
