UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland and Rebuilding Together Oakland Join Forces to Renovate Oakland Home
April is National Rebuilding Month

WHAT: About 30 volunteers from UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland will join with Rebuilding Together Oakland to renovate an Oakland homeowner’s house near the hospital. Volunteers will be undertaking a full kitchen renovation, replacing windows, repairing plumbing in order to set up working laundry, painting the interior, yard clean-up and planting, as well as adding safety improvements like motion-sensor lighting and installation of safety handles in the bathroom.

BACKGROUND: During National Rebuilding Month, Rebuilding Together Oakland will join Rebuilding Together affiliates nationwide, bringing together thousands of community volunteers, to provide free home repairs and modifications for low-income Americans – senior citizens, persons with disabilities, military veterans and families in need and nonprofit facilities that serve low-income communities.
