Pastoral Services at Children's Hospital Oakland
We know that our patients and families may need spiritual consolation during their stay. Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland is not affiliated with any religious institution, but non-denominational pastoral care and spiritual counseling is available to all patients and families requesting this care, no matter their faith,
Pastoral care may include responding to crises, assisting persons in the resolution of ethical questions regarding patient care, contacting pastors, priests, rabbis, or other religious representatives as requested, and providing ongoing spiritual support. We offer follow-up care and grief counseling in the event of the death of a child, individual counseling, and other services according to your need. No referral is necessary, and we're always available to talk with you about your needs—it's part of our commitment to the emotional, mental, and physical health for your child and for your whole family.
