About Me

Dr. Michlitsch joined the clinical faculty in 2010. Her fellowship research focused on epigenetic silencing of transgenes, and this work has fostered her strength and commitment to refractory and recurrent cancer. Recently, she became Chair of the Oncology Tumor Board. Dr. Michlitsch has become the Oakland Principal Investigator (PI) for early phase I trials with UCSF including Co-PI for “Discovering Therapeutic Targets Using Circulating Tumor DNA in Pediatric Patients with Solid and CNS Malignancies: A Pilot Study” – joint study with UCSF. She is working to open more early phase studies of for children and young adults with relapsed or refractory malignancies. Dr. Michlitsch is very active in the teaching program, the fellowship Scholarship Oversight Committee, and the Clinical Competency Committee. She is a mentor for the CHORI Minority Summer Student Program. She is an active member of our outreach program and sees patients in Walnut Creek.
