Help Us Respond to Coronavirus

The whole UCSF community is working hard to ensure that we continue to provide the best care to those who need it and the best solutions to this global pandemic. Below are several ways that you can support our efforts during this critical time.

Benioff Children’s Hospitals now have a solid supply of PPE inventory, and our supply chains are meeting our fulfillment requests. We are being careful stewards of our supplies across all areas of our organization to preserve PPE for our frontline staff, nurses, doctors and patients.

Donations received will contribute to a backup stockpile for front line staff, should it be necessary. We are also sharing PPE donations within our community of pediatrician practices.

Personal Protective Equipment Donations

UCSF is accepting donations of critical supplies for our frontline care providers, including protective equipment and sanitizing items. We’ve set up donation sites at three locations. They will be receiving donations 7 days a week, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland
    Hours of Operation: 7 days a week, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m
    747 52nd St., Oakland
    Ambassador Desk

  • Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital
Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Vermont Street behind Building 5 by loading dock, access via 22nd Street
Watch for signs directing you to the PPE drop off site

Supplies can also be donated by mail. Donations should be sent to:

  • COVID-19 Donations
    University of California, San Francisco
    C/O Supply Chain Management
    612 Forbes Blvd. Oyster Point
    So. San Francisco, CA 94080

The donation sites will accept the following supplies:

  • Unused N95 respirators and surgical masks. They can be opened, as long as they have not been used.
  • Unopened packages of disposable gloves
  • Unopened containers of hand sanitizer
  • Unopened containers of disinfectants and disinfecting wipes
  • Packaged, unused protective goggles.

Please note: We cannot accept any other supplies at this time and must keep storage space at our donation sites available for the items above. This includes no homemade or fabric masks and gowns because we are unable to ensure that the items will provide the necessary protection.

Financial Donations

Thank you for considering a gift to support UCSF, as we work to mitigate the impact of COVID-19. We are coordinating with colleagues across the Bay Area and Northern California to care for patients while also protecting the health of our faculty, staff, students, patients, and visitors. As the COVID-19 outbreak expands, teams throughout UCSF’s hospitals, clinics, and research labs are actively monitoring and responding to the evolving situation.

Industry Donations

If you are a member of a technical organization (biotech, pharma, etc.), and you have supplies you can donate, please contact for a complete list of what UCSF needs and how to get it to us.
