Requests for Interviews or Filming/Photographs
Members of the media interested in conducting interviews or taking photographs of staff, patients, or patients' families must first request and obtain prior authorization from Children's media relations staff. This includes visits to Children's for live stand-up reporting and other external shots on the campus. No one other than a member of the media relations team can approve requests from members of the media.
Patient & Family Interviews
The Media Relations staff will manage legal releases and obtain the written or verbal permission of the patient, or in the case of a minor, the parent or legal guardian, for photos and interviews. They will also notify the patient care areas involved and if needed make special arrangements for filming. To avoid delays, make arrangements in advance.
We may deny media access to the patient if it is determined the presence of media or photographers would aggravate the patient’s condition or interfere with appropriate clinical care.
