Grammy, Pulitzer, and Oscar Winners Come Together for Our Kids

Musician Ryan Tedder, lead singer of OneRepublic, will be joined by renowned authors and special guests for Notes & Words, an epic, one-night-only event benefiting UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland on April 27. This year marks the tenth anniversary of Notes & Words, which has raised nearly $10 million for our young patients.

In addition to leading his chart-topping band, Tedder is an acclaimed producer and songwriter, penning hits for superstars including Adele, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Paul McCartney, and Taylor Swift. Tedder will showcase his vocal and instrumental talents in a one-of-a-kind acoustic set.

Andrew Sean Greer, who won the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for “Less,” will share the humor and poignancy that have garnered critical acclaim for his six novels.

Oscar-winning actress Helen Hunt — also recognized for her work as a writer, director, and producer — will perform a “literary duet” with best-selling author Kelly Corrigan, the creative force behind Notes & Words.

The always inspiring Oakland School for the Arts will return by popular demand, and other special guests will add to an evening of inspiring moments.

Past Notes & Words performers include writers George Saunders, Michael Chabon, Dave Eggers, Anne Lamott, B.J. Novak, and Jane Smiley; former U.S. Poet Laureate Billy Collins; comedian Jim Gaffigan; singers Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters and Chris Martin of Coldplay; and music groups CAKE and G. Love & Special Sauce.

The evening promises outstanding entertainment, but the real thrill comes from supporting the life-changing medicine that we deliver every day at Children’s.
