Spiritual Care Services at Children's Hospital Oakland

When patients and their families search for meaning and comfort in the midst of illness and hospitalization, many find that talking with a chaplain can help. UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland is not affiliated with any religious institution and spiritual care is available to all our patients and their families.

Chaplains honor all faiths and traditions. They are here to promote healing by offering compassionate, interfaith spiritual support for our patients and their families. Please let us know how we can support you and your family during your hospital stay.

What are Chaplains available to do?

  • Provide a confidential listening presence
  • Conversation and meditation
  • Support and prayer for hope, healing, comfort and peace
  • Care for your spirit during your stay
  • Grief support
  • Visits during a hospital stay

Chaplains are a part of your medical team and work alongside other staff to provide the compassionate care you deserve.
