Send Radiology Imaging Records Electronically

Sharing images and reports from outside institutions with UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland physicians has never been easier.

Our Diagnostic Imaging department now offers patients and healthcare providers a safe and secure way to send medical images electronically.

This is not an emergency service. If this is an emergency, please dial 911.

Please note:

  • Processing the uploaded images could take up to 24 hours before they are available to your physician.

  • Please submit an accurate phone number, as we may need to validate your information on the phone or ask additional questions.

Directions

  1. Click the button below, "Upload your imaging exams".
  2. This will open our Life Image Connections website.
  3. From there, click the blue “Request a Connection” button.
  4. This will open a connection request form. Fill out the form to request permission to upload your imaging exams.
  5. Click the “Send Request” button to submit your request.
  6. When submitted, your request is sent to the Diagnostic Imaging department and a confirmation is sent to your email address.

  5. Click the “Send Request” button to submit your request.
  6. When submitted, your request is sent to the Diagnostic Imaging department and a confirmation is sent to your email address.
  7. Once your request is accepted, you will receive a welcome email containing an access code and link to get started.
  8. Click on the link and enter your access code when prompted.
  9. Put your CD into your CD/DVD drive and follow the instructions to upload your exam images.

Technical Requirements

To upload your medical images, you must have:

  1. A Windows PC with a CD/DVD drive
  2. Internet Explorer version 7, 8, 9 or 10
  3. Java – to determine if you have Java installed, click on your computer’s start menu and open the control panel. Check whether you see a Control Panel named Java. If so, you have Java installed. If you do not have Java or need to update the version you have installed, please follow these instructions:
    1. Open IE and go to Java.com
    2. Click on the “Free Java Download” button.
    3. When prompted to download the file, click on the “Run” button and follow the instructions.
    4. Close and re-open IE before attempting to upload your imaging exams.
  4. Imaging exams on a CD or CDs

MAC Users

Uploading medical images on MAC OSX is not currently supported.
