At UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland we understand that hospitalization, illness or injury can be extremely stressful. Pediatric social workers are available in every area of the hospital to help patients and their families deal with a broad range of psychological issues and stresses related to illness and maintaining health. Social workers are part of the multidisciplinary health care team working with you and your child during your visit to the hospital or clinics. We provide services that support your social and emotional needs and enhance the quality of care for you and your child.
